The Tempest: This Island

London, Winter 2024.
Shakespeare's classic, genre-defying masterpiece reimagined.

Twelve years after he was banished for practising magic, Prospero is nearing the end of his studies, and is finally ready to take revenge for his violent removal from government. But life in this island prison has revealed something to him. Is there something hiding at the frayed edge of this world?

Five years after their original production of Shakespeare’s final masterpiece, Brave Mirror returns with a bold new adaptation of this classic play. Directed and adapted by Jamie Saul, produced by Thomas Duggan and Holly Bancroft, and featuring original music from Maia Harding, ‘The Tempest: This Island’, will play in London in Winter 2024.

The production will be made sustainably using guidance from the Theatre Green Book. It will be developed collaboratively, in part via workshops with students and young people.
