After a childhood of misery and oppression, a young woman seeks to find her place in the world.
After five star productions of ‘The Tempest’ and ‘Antigone’, Brave Mirror returns with a new adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s classic novel, ‘Jane Eyre’.
Trapped and unhappy, the young Jane desperately seeks belonging and acceptance. From her childhood under the cruel eye of an unloving aunt, Jane leaves for school, and then to work at Thornfield Hall, where she falls in love with her mysterious new employer, Mr Rochester. But all is not as it seems at Thornfield: secrets are hidden behind closed doors, and echoes from the past haunt the halls.
Fast, fun, and full of hope and joy, ‘Jane Eyre’ tells the story of a young woman battling against the world around her, as she desperately tries to find herself, her voice, and a place to belong.
Brave Mirror’s ‘Jane Eyre’ played live in Cotham Church, Bristol, from the 15th-17th September 2021.
